Melvin Pather is a technology entrepreneur as well as an educator at the University of Cape Town. He has a wealth of experience from working across industries such as higher education and training, marketing and advertising, new media and digital fabrication, fine art and the information technology sector.
Melvin is co-founder of start-ups such as Pather Technologies and The Virtual Galleries. He is also co-owner of Hope Smiles Dental which is a dental practice and dental brand that promotes painless and affordable dentistry.
He is active in the entrepreneurial space, focusing on sustainable and innovative technologies. He was an international attendee of the China Hi-Tech Fair in Shenzhen, China in 2018 and selected as a Mandela Washington Fellow in 2019. He is an active member of the Young African Leaders Initiative.
